Part of a global movement working to benefit people and the planet

Nocla is a certified B Corp

Certified B Corporations meet high standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

For us, that means taking responsibility for the full picture – from the ingredients we choose to the way we run our business. It’s about working within a framework that makes expectations explicit and challenges us to raise the bar over time.

"The B Corp certification commits us to being transparent about the decisions behind modern food production, and to continuously improving – alongside companies working towards the same goals."

Our B Corp score

Certification requires a minimum of 80 out of 200 points, based on a rigorous and independently verified assessment.

Our score shows how we are doing across the business. It’s not a finish line, but a tool and a benchmark we use to understand where we are – and where we need to do better.

Impact embedded in how we do business

Nocla was founded with the ambition to develop flavourful, functional and more responsible food solutions – built on high-quality organic ingredients and short, transparent ingredient lists.

As a certified B Corp, our responsibility towards people, the environment and society is not a separate initiative. It’s embedded in how we operate, make decisions and grow our business.

Below you can explore how we approach the five B Corp impact areas in practice.

Foundation:

Nocla is founded as an impact-driven company.

We built on the idea that purpose and responsibility should be part of the foundation – not an afterthought.

Nocla scored 17.2 in the Governance impact area.

In practice:

  1. Governance and ownership structures support long-term value creation.
  2. Leadership is accountable for both financial performance and documented impact.
  3. Strategic decisions are assessed based on their effect on resources, climate and the food system.

Why it matters:

Impact is not something we add. It defines how we operate.

We aim to create a workplace with room for different needs, backgrounds and ways of working.

Strong partnerships are built on trust, transparency and shared responsibility.

An example of our work in the community area is that we partner with and support the non-profit organisation JunkFood, which works every day to provide warm, nourishing meals to people experiencing homelessness.

Foundation:

Our environmental work centres around production and resource use.

Fermentation is the foundation of all our products. It is a natural and highly energy-efficient way of producing, as it is the microorganisms that work in harmony with our organic ingredients.

Nocla scored 31.3 in the Environment impact area.

In practice:

We prioritise reducing emissions where it matters most – rather than offsetting.

  1. Continuous optimisation of fermentation processes.
  2. Efficient temperature and process control.
  3. Data-driven improvements.
  4. Use of electricity instead of gas.
  5. Maximising functional and nutritional value.
  6. Using side streams where possible.

Real impact comes from improving the core of how products are made.

We value transparent and honest communication, as trust is essential in the food industry.

In practice:

  1. Clear communication about ingredients and sourcing.

Impact in a global context

As a B Corp, our work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We focus on the areas where we can make a real and measurable difference through how we source, produce and develop food solutions.

Below are three selected SDGs that illustrate where we focus our work in practice.

B Corp gives us a framework to take responsibility for how food is made – from sourcing to production.

Our focus is on reducing complexity and working with more transparent and efficient food systems.

  • Short, clear ingredients lists.
  • Focus on transparency in production and sourcing.
  • Better use of raw materials through fermentation.

We focus on reducing impact where it actually happens – in production, processes and resource use.

  • Optimised fermentation processes.
  • Electrified production.
  • Continuous process improvements based on data.

Our work is rooted in plant-based, organic raw materials and a more responsible use of agricultural resources within food production systems.

  • Organic Danish legumes and crops.
  • Better utilisation of side streams.
  • Supporting more resource-efficient food systems.
